Ntungamo, Uganda – Shock and fear have gripped residents of Kikungu Trading Centre in Rwemiriro ward, Rushenyi county, Ntungamo district, after a cat carcass wrapped in a black polythene bag was discovered dumped in front of a residence belonging to Moses Matsiko.
The gruesome discovery has sparked suspicions of witchcraft, with residents blaming the local council for failing to take swift action against such crimes.
A cat carcass with all four legs chopped off and internal organs extracted was discovered wrapped in a black polythene bag at around 7:45 AM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in Kikungu Trading Centre, sparking widespread suspicions of witchcraft among residents.
Rwemiriro LC I Chairperson, Mr. Moses Gantungo, confirmed receiving calls about the discovery and hinted that Matsiko’s first wife, embroiled in a domestic dispute over a second spouse, might be a potential suspect behind the gruesome act.
Gantungo further alleged that Matsiko’s sons played a role in retrieving and subsequently burying the cat’s carcass, raising questions about their involvement and potential motives behind the disturbing incident.
