Kisoro, Uganda – The newly elected LC III chairpersons and councilors, who emerged as NRM flag bearers in the just-concluded party primary elections in Kisoro District, have expressed their gratitude to voters for their overwhelming support and trust.
The winners were officially announced today August 15, 2025 at the Kisoro District NRM tally center by the district’s party registrar, Mujambere Tadeo, who presided over the declaration process.

Among the successful LC III chairperson candidates were Joseph Nizeye wa Senkonko for Kanaba Sub-county, Munezero Peace Peninah for Murora Sub-county, and Habiyaremye Sipiriyano for Busanza Sub-county.
Speaking shortly after the announcement, the winners appreciated their supporters and promised to prioritize development and improved service delivery in their respective sub-counties.
They also commended their campaign teams and supporters for their hard work and dedication, urging them to maintain unity as they prepare for the 2026 general elections.

In addition to the chairpersons, several councilors were also declared winners, including Irafsha Joventa, councilor for Kahurire Ward in Nkuringo Town Council; Maniriho Brain Pascal, youth councilor for Busanza Sub-county; Uwimana Benyinya, woman councilor for Buhumbu B in Busanza Sub-county; and Irahari Devis, aka Kirinvi, LC III councilor for Buhozi Parish in Busanza Sub-county.
The NRM councilorship flag bearers also extended their appreciation to the voters, assuring them of their commitment to collaborative efforts aimed at fostering development and progress in Kisoro District.
They further emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among all stakeholders to ensure that the district achieves its development goals.
