Mukono, Uganda – Two well-known Mukono land dealers, Kityo Seruma Green Way Edward and Kazibwe Yusufu, have been remanded until April 28, 2025, on charges of forcible entry and conspiracy to commit an offense.

The two were brought to court by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, working with the Uganda Police and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The duo, along with others still at large, allegedly violently entered and took possession of a piece of land belonging to Kamundu Martin in Nakasajja Village, Kyampisi sub-county, Mukono district, between 2020 and 2023.

During this period, they destroyed property, trees, and crops on the land. Furthermore, they conspired with one of the land administrators, subdivided the land into plots, and sold it to different individuals.

Appearing before the Grade 1 Magistrates Court in Nakifuma, the accused were read a charge sheet outlining the allegations against them.

The arrest and arraignment of the two land dealers are part of a broader effort by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit to crack down on land grabbing and other forms of corruption in Uganda.
