Kisoro, Uganda – Two people have been admitted to Mutolere Hospital with severe injuries following a fatal road crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist.
The incident occurred on the evening of August 15, 2025, at approximately 7:40 p.m. along the Kisoro-Kabale highway near Busamba in Kisoro District.
The collision involved a white Fuso Fighter with registration number UBH 156Q and a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle bearing registration number UEG 370X.
The deceased has been identified as Niyonzima Peter, 38, of Rwabara village, Chahafi Town Council, while the injured are Niyonsaba Marita, 56, and an unidentified minor, both of whom were passengers on the motorcycle at the time of the incident.
According to the Kigezi Police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, preliminary reports indicate that the accident occurred when the motorcycle rider attempted to overtake the Fuso Fighter while traveling from Kisoro.
As the rider swerved back into his lane to avoid an oncoming vehicle, he was struck and killed by the same truck he had been trying to pass.
Maate confirmed that the two passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Mutolere Hospital for emergency treatment.

Police officers visited the scene, documented the incident, and processed the area for further investigation.
The deceased’s body was toured to Kisoro Hospital Mortuary for postmortem, while the wrecked vehicles were towed to Kisoro CPS pending IOV inspection.
