State Minister of Finance Henry Musasizi has donated 50 bags of cement and a preaching pulpit to Butuurwa Church of Uganda.
Musasizi, who is also the Member of Parliament for Rubanda East and the NRM Chairperson of Rubanda District, fulfilled his pledge of cement today.
The new church pulpit was delivered last week and officially unveiled on Sunday, June 8, 2025.

The 50 bags of cement, delivered by Pius Tumwiine, the LC.3 Chairperson of Bubare Sub-county (also known as Small), were presented on behalf of Musasizi. The cement aims to complete construction work on the house of the Catechist at the church located in Butuurwa Village, Kyocyezo Parish, Nyamweru Sub-county, Rubanda District.

Mr. Tumwiine explained that Minister Musasizi’s consistent donations to local churches are intended to supplement the efforts of congregants, who are often required to contribute towards various church development projects and physical needs.
“For instance, donating the church pulpit and cement means the Church can save money that would have been spent on these items and redirect those funds to other development projects,” Tumwiine stated.

The Butuurwa Church of Uganda lay reader, Asaasira Tito, led the team that gathered to receive the donation today. He expressed gratitude to Minister Musasizi, praising him for fulfilling both of his pledges to the church.
“Last Sunday, the Honorable Minister was here to unveil the new pulpit he had pledged earlier. We also discussed the need to plaster and cement the Catechist’s house, which he promised to support. Now, he has fulfilled his pledge of cement in less than a week. We are very grateful, and we will always pray for his blessings,” Asaasira said.

Mureebe further acknowledged Musasizi’s contributions to other religious institutions in the district, describing him as a “leader of all people.”
In related news, Minister Musasizi has also fulfilled his pledge to donate 100 iron sheets to Kibuzigye Church of Uganda.

Musasizi made this pledge on June 6, 2025, during the final prayer ceremony for the late Georgina Nyabaja, a resident of Rwamagyenda Village in Kibuzigye Ward, Hamuhambo Town Council. Nyabaja passed away at the age of 104, leaving behind 13 children and 150 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
While delivering the iron sheets on behalf of the Minister on Wednesday, Pius Tumwiine, the Bubare Sub-county LC.3 Chairperson, explained that Musasizi was supporting the construction of the Catechist’s house at Kibuzigye Church of Uganda.
