Kasese, Uganda – Magistrates Court of Kasese sentenced a boda boda rider, Ngobi Hassan alias Kadogo, 35, to 40 years in Mubuku Prisons for attempting to murder his wife over domestic disputes.

Hassan was arrested by police on March 21, 2025, after failing to respond to the scene where his wife, Mbambu Esther, was heard screaming for help.

During the court session on April 1, 2025, presided over by Her Worship Ajok, it was revealed that Hassan and his wife had been engaged in domestic arguments, which escalated on March 19, 2025.

On the day of the attack, Esther was found with severe injuries, including cut arms and head wounds. Hassan was spotted fleeing the scene around Base Camp Trading Center and was caught with a panga having suspected blood stains.

Her Worship Ajok sentenced Hassan to 40 years in prison and ordered him to pay 50 million Ugandan shillings in compensation to the victim.

Reports indicate that Esther is currently admitted at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, recovering steadily after a successful operation.
