Kabale, Uganda – Kabale Police have two individuals in custody for questioning over the death circumstances of a 57-year-old man who was allegedly attacked and beaten to death.
The deceased has been identified as Mwerinde Broad, a resident of Murambo village, Buranga parish, Kamuganguzi sub-county, Kabale district, whose lifeless body was discovered lying on a bed in one of the rooms of his house.
Reports indicate that the incident is believed to have occurred on the night of Sunday, June 30, 2025, when Broad was attacked at his home.
The gruesome discovery was made by Birungi Patrick Paddy, who had gone to check on Broad the following day, Monday, July 1, 2025.
Paddy subsequently informed Broad’s relatives, and the Chairperson LC I of the area, Jackline Mbangirwoha, who reported the matter to Kamuganguzi Police Station, which later escalated to Kabale for further investigations.
The Kigezi Police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, confirmed the incident, stating that a team of investigators from Kabale CPS promptly responded to the crime scene, meticulously documenting and processing the area.
Broad’s body was taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem, and police have arrested two people to aid investigations, withholding their details to protect the probe.
Maate added that the police are working tirelessly to uncover the truth behind this heinous crime, with inquiries currently underway, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
