BUSHENYI, UGANDA<\/strong> – The Police have inducted 3,038 Election Special Polling Constables (ESPCs) in the Greater Bushenyi districts for election duty ahead of the upcoming general elections slated for next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was confirmed by the Greater Bushenyi Region Police Spokesperson, SP Apollo Tayebwa, in a press statement issued on Sunday, December 21st, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tayebwa confirmed that the new officers underwent an intensive ten-day training programme, culminating in pass-out ceremonies held across the five districts of Sheema, Bushenyi, Mitooma, Buhweju, and Rubirizi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremonies, presided over by the respective Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), saw a cohort composed of 2,229 male and 809 female officers, a composition hailed for promoting gender inclusion in the security architecture of the electoral process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Police Spokesperson expressed the region’s sincere gratitude to all contributing authorities and confirmed that the recruits are now “fully ready to perform the expected mandate.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We extend our sincere appreciation to all the authorities that contributed to the success of the recruitment and training of these passed-out ESPCs, now fully ready to perform the expected mandate,” said SP Tayebwa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He strongly charged the newly passed-out officers to act with professionalism, safeguard human rights, uphold the Force’s image, and exhibit the highest patriotism in executing their mandate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
