Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo as the new Principal Judge, marking a key leadership transition within Uganda\u2019s judicial system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The President acted in accordance with Article 142(1) of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and on the official advice of the Judicial Service Commission, the body responsible for judicial appointments and discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hon. Lady Justice Abodo&#8217;s appointment was confirmed by the Deputy Presidential Press Secretary, Hajji Faruk Kirunda, via his account on X (formerly Twitter), where he stated that her name has been forwarded to Parliament for the necessary approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I hereby confirm that the letter circulating on social media regarding the appointment of Hon. Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo as the new Principal Judge is authentic. Her name has been forwarded to Parliament for the necessary approval. I congratulate her,&#8221; Faruk Kirunda&#8217;s Twitter message read in part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hon. Lady Justice Abodo, the highly respected and current Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), is widely recognized for her integrity, expertise, and dedication to the rule of law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The role of Principal Judge, which is critical to the efficient functioning of Uganda\u2019s justice system, carries considerable responsibility, including the administration of the High Court and oversight of all High Court judges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Justice Abodo\u2019s appointment concludes the tenure of Hon.
