They then made off with cash, mobile phones, and other valuables before escaping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shop owner Rodgers Irankunda swiftly reported the incident to the police, but despite their prompt response, the robbers had fled the scene by the time they arrived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After conducting a thorough review of the shop&#8217;s security camera footage, police confirmed that the gunmen were armed with a high-powered AK-47 rifle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kisoro District Police Commander, Ben Niwamanya Kashumbusha, assured the public that investigations are underway to apprehend the suspects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He noted that this is the third such incident in the area and suggested that the perpetrators may have crossed from the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo
