{"id":5044,"date":"2025-05-27T08:29:36","date_gmt":"2025-05-27T05:29:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/westernpearlreports.com\/?p=5044"},"modified":"2025-05-27T08:29:36","modified_gmt":"2025-05-27T05:29:36","slug":"payment-dispute-turns-deadly-bricklayer-found-dead-in-rukiga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westernpearlreports.com\/index.php\/2025\/05\/27\/payment-dispute-turns-deadly-bricklayer-found-dead-in-rukiga\/","title":{"rendered":"Payment Dispute Turns Deadly: Bricklayer Found Dead in Rukiga"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Rukiga, Uganda<\/strong> &#8211; The territorial police in Rukiga are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Bright Hakiri, a 30-year-old bricklayer from Rushayo cell, Kiahaje parish, Bufundi sub-county, Rubanda district. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incident occurred on May 25, 2025, at around 9:00 PM at Rwakimuri cell, Nyakabungo parish, Bukinda sub-county, Rukiga district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to reports, Hakiri and one of the suspects, Nkurunungi Fortunate, had been working together on a bricklaying project for Twebaze Evalisit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On May 24, 2025, at around 9:00 PM, the two men went to a bar owned by Ninsiima to drink alcohol, where they got into a quarrel over payment from their employer. The dispute escalated into a physical fight using sticks when they returned to their residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their manager discovered Hakiri unconscious and called a doctor to treat him at home, but he was pronounced dead on arrival, prompting the police to open a murder case and launch an investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Kigezi Police Spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, the crime scene was visited, processed, and documented, and statements were recorded from witnesses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maate confirmed that a post-mortem examination was conducted, the body was handed over to relatives for a decent burial, and two suspects, Nkurunungi Fortunate and Twinamatsiko Brian, have been arrested to assist with the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The police are working to gather more evidence and piece together the circumstances surrounding Hakiri&#8217;s death, with
