Rev. Godfrey Mbitse, has called for peace to be restored in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to allow its citizens to enjoy their country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bishop made the appeal during a prayer session at the Kirambo border point, which separates Uganda&#8217;s Kisoro district from the DRC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The prayer session was held to celebrate the opening of St. John&#8217;s Busigi Church of Uganda. Bishop Mbitse&#8217;s plea comes in response to concerns from DRC Christians who cross into Uganda seeking peace and stability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasized the need for peace talks to address conflicts in the North Kivu Province and prayed for God&#8217;s intervention to rescue those affected by conflicts and wars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bishop also warned Ugandan Christians against harboring hatred towards those from the DRC, promoting peace and unity instead. Noting that living in war disrupts people&#8217;s ability to think clearly, Bishop Mbitse renewed his call for peace in the DRC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Cue in &#8230;Bishop Mbitse on DRC RR<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/westernpearlreports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/MBITSE-ON-CONGO-RR.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The DRC has been plagued by clashes between Congolese armed forces and non-state armed groups, with the conflict escalating since January 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The M23 rebel group, backed by Rwanda, has seized key cities like Goma and Bukavu, displacing millions and killing thousands.
