{"id":4317,"date":"2025-04-06T17:54:13","date_gmt":"2025-04-06T14:54:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/westernpearlreports.com\/?p=4317"},"modified":"2025-04-06T17:54:13","modified_gmt":"2025-04-06T14:54:13","slug":"fatal-shooting-in-rukiga-security-guard-in-custody","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westernpearlreports.com\/index.php\/2025\/04\/06\/fatal-shooting-in-rukiga-security-guard-in-custody\/","title":{"rendered":"Fatal Shooting in Rukiga; Security Guard in Custody"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Rukiga, Uganda<\/strong> &#8211; Police in Rukiga District have arrested a security guard attached to Rukiga Sacco Kamwezi branch for allegedly shooting and killing a herdsman employed by Mbabazi Kakwerere, the district chairperson of Rukiga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deceased has been identified as Nabimanya Kendrick, 22, a resident of Kigara B cell, Kigara parish, Kamwezi sub-county, Rukiga District. He was allegedly shot by Musinguzi Silas, a 21 security guard attached to Safe Tech Security Company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to sources, Kendrick and his fellow herdsman, Alias Owamahoro, were looking after cows at the farm along the road on Saturday around 9:30 pm when they saw Silas, armed with a gun, walking towards Muhanga with a woman. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After Silas bypassed them, Kendrick followed to identify the woman, allegedly provoking Silas, who turned back and shot Kendrick, killing him instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, stating that police were alerted, and the scene was visited by a team of police officers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Statements were recorded from witnesses, and the body was taken to Kamwezi H\/C IV for a postmortem and the suspect was arrested, and the used weapon was recovered pending submission for analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Cue in &#8230; Maate on the incident. RR\/Eng<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/westernpearlreports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Maate-on-the-incident.-ENG.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/westernpearlreports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Maate-on-the-incident.-RR.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our officers were alerted, and a murder case file was opened, with investigations underway. Unfortunately, it&#8217;s regrettable that some security personnel resort to using firearms to resolve disputes, rather than seeking alternative solutions.&#8221; Said ASP Elly Maate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maate added that inquiries are ongoing, and upon completion, the suspect will be arraigned before the courts of law to answer charges accordingly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rukiga, Uganda &#8211;
