NAKASEKE: The Incident Commander at the Ministry of Health Col Dr Henry Kyobe has confirmed that the Mpox outbreak in Uganda has resulted in 1,552 laboratory-confirmed cases and 12 fatalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Henry Kyobe said this during a briefing at the International Peace Support Operations Training Centre (IPSO TC) in Singo, Nakaseke District, underscoring the gravity of the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He encouraged the UPDF personnel to keep vigilance and adhere to preventive measures as the Mpox outbreak is serious and poses a threat to health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMpox is a serious public health threat that spreads through contact. We need to adhere to precautions.\u201d Said Dr Kyobe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Col Dr Henry Kyobe further outlined the main symptoms of Mpox, which include fever, back pain, swollen lymph nodes, sore throat, and distinctive skin lesions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Health officials have reiterated their appeal to the public to stay alert, follow established guidelines, and take steps to protect themselves and their communities from the virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
