{"id":13254,"date":"2026-09-02T14:55:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T14:55:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/westernpearlreports.com\/?p=13254"},"modified":"2026-09-02T14:59:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T14:59:12","slug":"security-guard-dies-in-alleged-suicide-incident-in-kasese","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westernpearlreports.com\/index.php\/2026\/09\/02\/security-guard-dies-in-alleged-suicide-incident-in-kasese\/","title":{"rendered":"Security Guard Dies by Poisoning in Alleged Suicide in Kasese"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KASESE &#8211; <\/strong>The security guard employed by Jimark Security Company in Kasese District has allegedly taken his own life by poisoning, under circumstances that are yet to be established by investigators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deceased has been identified as 62-year-old Kangalighali Stephen Masereka, a resident of Kyondo Cell, Nyamwamba Division, in Kasese Municipality, who allegedly ingested a poisonous substance on the morning of Wednesday, September 2, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sources indicate that the Kyondo Cell area chairperson, at approximately 8:00 AM, was informed that the deceased&#8217;s room had been seen locked and that there was a smell of rat poison coming from the said room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Rwenzori East Regional Police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, noted that the chairperson promptly alerted the Officer-in-Charge of Rukoki Police Station, who responded without delay alongside other law enforcement officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maate added that upon arrival at the scene, police were forced to break into the locked room, where they made the heartbreaking discovery of Masereka&#8217;s lifeless body lying on the floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The body was later retrieved and subsequently conveyed to the Kasese Municipal Health Centre Mortuary for a postmortem examination to conclusively establish the exact cause of death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We have commenced investigations into this unfortunate incident. Our officers responded swiftly upon receiving the report from the area chairperson, and the scene was properly documented.
