{"id":12243,"date":"2026-06-24T07:46:37","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T07:46:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/westernpearlreports.com\/?p=12243"},"modified":"2026-06-24T07:46:39","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T07:46:39","slug":"driver-caught-with-13-bullets-military-gear-in-police-operation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westernpearlreports.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/24\/driver-caught-with-13-bullets-military-gear-in-police-operation\/","title":{"rendered":"Driver Caught with 13 Bullets, Military Gear in Police Operation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KAMPALA &#8211;<\/strong> Police have arrested a private security company driver for unlawful possession of suspected government stores, seizing 13 rounds of ammunition alongside a cache of military-style equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The suspect, identified as Prosper Turinawe, a driver employed by a private security company and a resident of Kyebando Central, was taken into custody on Sunday following a tip-off from the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, police received information about a man allegedly seen carrying a pistol along Mawanda Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Owoyesigyire confirmed that officers at Wandegeya Police Station promptly launched an operation, tracing the suspect to a lodge in the area where he had been residing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that while Turinawe initially managed to evade capture, persistent investigative efforts led to his interception at about 6:00 a.m., with authorities discovering him in possession of 13 rounds of ammunition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The subsequent search of the suspect&#8217;s residence in Kyebando Central uncovered approximately 40 spent cartridges of various calibres, black military-style boots, uniforms from a private security firm, and other attire from multiple organisations. All recovered items have been duly documented and exhibited as evidence in the ongoing case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect&#8217;s premises may have served as a storage facility for the recovered military items and ammunition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Owoyesigyire said that Turinawe remains in police custody and has been formally charged with unlawful possession of government stores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the Police have urged members of the public to maintain vigilance and report any suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The cooperation of citizens in sharing information was instrumental in this successful operation.
