Jolly Jackline Tukamushaba, who was charged with inciting violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The former Rukiga district woman MP aspirant appeared before Chief Magistrate His Worship Derrick Byamugisha on Thursday, February 6, 2026, following an application for a production warrant by her defense team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tukamushaba was abducted from a hotel in Muhanga Town, Rukiga District on January 14, 2026, a day before the 2026 general elections polling day, by armed men in plain clothes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She surfaced in court on February 6, 2026, charged with incitement to violence and was sent on remand to Ndorwa Government Prison by the Kabale Chief Magistrate&#8217;s Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The charges leveled against her stem from allegations that between December 2025 and January 2026, she incited people to commit acts of violence against supporters of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Western Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While in court today, her team of lawyers presented four sureties: Leopold Twesigye, Emmanuel Turyasigura, Twesigye Luke, and Jiripina Kamusiime, who were fully ready to stand as her sureties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The presiding judge, Byamugisha, accepted the court necessities presented by her lawyers and granted Tukamushaba bail, emphasizing her right to apply for it and noting that the state had not specifically demonstrated how she would interfere with the community if released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The court granted Tukamushaba cash bail of UGX 1 million and bonded her four sureties at UGX 5 million non-cash each, before adjourning the case to February
