{"id":1014,"date":"2024-05-26T05:46:03","date_gmt":"2024-05-26T05:46:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/westernpearlreports.com\/?p=1014"},"modified":"2024-05-26T05:46:03","modified_gmt":"2024-05-26T05:46:03","slug":"police-in-kanungu-district-equipped-with-a-sniffer-dog-to-handle-crimes-in-the-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westernpearlreports.com\/index.php\/2024\/05\/26\/police-in-kanungu-district-equipped-with-a-sniffer-dog-to-handle-crimes-in-the-area\/","title":{"rendered":"Police in Kanungu District Equipped with a\u00a0Sniffer Dog\u00a0to handle crimes in the area"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KANUNGU:<\/strong> In a way Of&nbsp;Curtailing Rampant Theft Crimes,&nbsp;Police in Kanungu have been equipped with&nbsp;a K-9 Dog Code named Prince (Germany Shepherd).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Sniffer Dog was delivered at Kanungu central police station on Saturday by a team&nbsp;from the Police headquarters Kampala headed by AIP Kyesiimo Gabriel and its handler PC Otim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking at the&nbsp;launch and hand over of a K-9 Dog code named prince (Germany shepherd) AIP Kyesiimo Gabriel said that the canine unit is like any other police service that works together with SOCCO &amp; CID after a report has been registered at police to enable them move officially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kanungu&nbsp;DPC SP Kutosi Titus&nbsp;expressed gratitude and&nbsp;applauded the IGP, RPC, Min &amp; Mp Kinkizi East Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomusi, Mr.&nbsp;James Musinguzi&nbsp;Garuga, the Kanungu Woman Mp Hon.&nbsp;Patience Kinshaba Nkunda,&nbsp;Kinkiizi&nbsp;West&nbsp;MP Hon. Niringiyimana James Ruugi Kaberuka, the District Boss and other Stakeholders for the Effort and Support Rendered towards Bringing the Canine Unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SP Kutosi Titus&nbsp;Identified Challenges that Include among others;&nbsp;Lack of Transport means and fuel allocation for the Canine, for its movement across the District and&nbsp;the Community lacking Information about the Dog Services, thus Calling for Joint Sensitization to help the CLO in doing so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Mayor Kanungu Town Council also NRM Chairperson Kanungu District Hon. Godfrey Karabenda Expressed Gratitude and said this will act as a preventing tool for coffee thieves which is rampant from which other thieves will fear to steal people&#8217;s properties which previously lacked in the disrespect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Godfrey Karabenda&nbsp;added that Kanungu as a whole has been suffering for lacking a canine unit thus urging the LC&#8217;s and all other leaders to sensitize citizens to put at use the services of the Canine Unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kigezi Police Spokesperson Elly Maate confirmed to the media that sniffer dog services will help to curtail rampant crimes of thefts of coffee, domestic animals and other&nbsp;crimes of the same nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kigezi Police Spokesperson further encouraged the public\u00a0to freely utilize the dog services once they have issues of concern. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The handover ceremony was witnessed by a number of local leaders including the District speaker, the area woman councilor, area chairpersons, Media fraternity to mention but a
