Presiding over the Eid Al-Adha celebrations on Wednesday, May 27th, 2026, at Rugyenda Main Mosque in Ndekya Town Council, Rubirizi district, Sheikh Manisuri Siwatu Abubakare urged Muslims to maintain peace, respect, and love toward one another.

The Rubirizi Muslim leader reminded the faithful to embody the true spirit of Eid Al-Adha by sharing with and supporting those in need, emphasizing that sacrifice and charity lie at the heart of the celebration.

Sheikh Manisuri further called on Muslims to use the blessed day as an opportunity to renew their commitment to discipline and unity, reaching out to the less fortunate as a way to draw closer to Allah and strengthen the entire community.

“Eid Al-Adha is not merely a day of prayer and feasting; it is a divine reminder that our faith is measured by how we treat the vulnerable, how we hold fast to discipline, and how we stand united as one community,” said Sheikh Manisuri.

Lukwago Mikidad, Chairperson of Masjid Lauma at Rugyenda Main Mosque, thanked Muslims for their unity and love, urging them to keep promoting their faith through kindness, forgiveness, hope, and renewal.

He also reminded the faithful that Eid Al-Adha is a blessed day for reflection and reconciliation, while encouraging them to work hard and boost household incomes for stronger families and a resilient community.

“When we unite in forgiveness, uplift one another with hope, and work diligently to improve our homes, then every day becomes Eid, filled with peace, happiness, and blessings from the Almighty,” stated Mikidad.

Rubirizi Muslim women’s leader Aisha Nakate urged parents to educate their children and pursue income-generating activities, noting that educated and economically stable families build a righteous society.

She also appealed to Muslims to extend the spirit of Eid beyond the festive day through kindness, support for vulnerable people, family justice, and actions that strengthen the nation’s unity.

Eid Al-Adha is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu’l-Hijja, the 12th and final month of the Islamic lunar calendar, and this year was celebrated today, May 27, 2026, depending on moon sighting.
