‎In the latest appointments and transfers announced by the Uganda Police Force, Maate will be replaced by SP Tumushime Nelson, who has also  been transferred from Rwenzori East.

‎Maate, who has served as the Public Relations Officer for the Kigezi Region since 2011, states that the Inspector General of Police, in his wisdom, decided to transfer him closer to his home in Kaseese District, as he is nearing retirement.

‎”Of course, the Inspector General of Police has seen that my services are required elsewhere, especially as I am preparing to retire. I should be near home so that I can properly plan my exit,” he said.

‎Having served in the region for 15 years, Maate mentioned that Kigezi had become his second home. He also said he would remain in touch with the people in the area, particularly through social media.
