KAMPALA – President Yoweri Museveni has expressed deep appreciation to the current Cabinet for successfully steering Uganda’s economy and guiding the country into middle-income status.

He added that this was the Cabinet that ushered Uganda into middle-income status, and he thanked everyone who contributed, including the Cabinet Secretariat for effectively managing the business of cabinet.
The President confirmed that in the current regime, Uganda was ushered into middle-income status, indicating that its economy grew strong enough to reach a new level of development.
“This Cabinet worked with discipline and heart. They did not just manage government business, they changed our country’s story by steering Uganda into middle-income status. I am proud of every minister, advisor, and member of the Cabinet Secretariat who served the people of Uganda with dedication,” the President stated.
Unlike earlier cabinets, Gen. Museveni added that the 2021-2026 cabinet mixed experienced technocrats with new faces who connect well with ordinary people, which made the government feel closer to the public.
Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja thanked the President for his leadership, saying they worked as one team and delivered results from recovering from COVID-19 to starting oil exports.
Meanwhile, the President specially thanked the Cabinet Secretariat for organizing all cabinet business behind the scenes, as outgoing ministers wait for the new cabinet after the 2026 elections.
