The colorful ceremony, held at the SACCO’s offices in Katerera, saw over 45 members receive cows, goats, mattresses, and other valuable packages in recognition of their unwavering trust, consistent saving, and commitment to the society’s growth.

Presiding over the event, Niwabine Rodgers, the Branch Manager of KYAPS Katerera, emphasized that the initiative was a core part of the SACCO’s corporate social responsibility, designed to give back to the community and boost Christmas celebrations.

“Beyond these gifts, our core message is an invitation to the entire community to embrace a savings culture. This is the proven pathway to transform household incomes, educate our children, and decisively fight poverty. KYAPS is here as your partner in that journey,” Rodgers stated.

Hon. Mary Ninsiima Dansira, Board Member of KYAPS, applauded the beneficiaries for their loyalty and urged them to maintain the discipline of saving for sustainable development.

She told members that their active participation and share capital contributions are vital investments, building a resilient SACCO and securing their own futures.

Hon. Dansira revealed that through the steadfast support of its members, KYAPS has grown into one of Uganda’s best-performing SACCOs, boasting an impressive share capital of 50 billion Shillings and serving as a role model in the cooperative movement.

Beneficiary Dembe Robert Jose, Headteacher of Kicwamba High School, expressed profound gratitude for his cow, calling the gift a great motivation that encourages more saving and urging the community to join KYAPS.

“This generous gift is more than an asset; it is a great motivation. It encourages us to save even more with KYAPS, and I urge everyone in our community to join this society to secure their economic prospects,” Jose said.

The event served as a powerful testament to how community-focused financial institutions like KYAPS can catalyze development from the grassroots, one member at a time.
