RUKUNGIRI, UGANDA – The NRM flag bearer for Rubabo County, Mathias Mwesigwa Rwabugumi, has called on party structures to cooperate and work as a team in supporting NRM flag bearers from the LC1 level up to President Yoweri Museveni.

Rwabugumi made the remarks on 6th December 2025 during a meeting of NRM structures held at Uganda Martyrs Technical Institute in Nyarushanje Sub-county.
He said the main purpose of the meeting was to reactivate and strengthen NRM structures, reminding members of their duty to mobilize support for all party flag bearers from the President and the area Member of Parliament downwards so they can work together to deliver essential services.
Rwabugumi encouraged the public to work hard, embrace NRM ideology, and follow the party structure guidelines.
He urged the structures to protect the achievements made under the current government and to support all NRM flag bearers, including President Museveni, to ensure continued peace, stability, and development.
The NRM chairperson for Nyarushanje Sub-county, Fuderi Begumisa, also encouraged party structures to safeguard the gains made under the current government.
She emphasized the importance of electing leaders like Rwabugumi, who understand the realities and challenges facing the people of Rubabo County.
Begumisa warned that electing opposition candidates would undermine service delivery and slow down community development.
The NRM flag bearer for LC3 Chairperson in Nyarushanje Sub-county, Alex Bruno Mujuni, likewise urged party structures to support and vote for all NRM flag bearers, stating this is the only way to improve household development in the area.
