KABALE, UGANDA – The Parliamentary National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer for Kabale Municipality, Hon. Andrew Aja Baryayanga, paid solemn tribute at the tomb of FRONASA freedom fighters who were publicly executed by former President Idi Amin’s regime in 1973.

The memorial event preceded the main Tarehe Sita celebrations held at the Kigezi High School playground, with the Minister of Defence, Hon. Oboth Oboth, as the chief guest.
Speaking after laying the wreath, Hon. Aja Baryayanga emphasized that remembering the fallen soldiers who secured Uganda’s lasting peace is a vital duty that cannot be understated.
He added that he is partnering with the national army under collaborative plans for community development, with the UPDF set to renovate schools, health units, roads, and other vital infrastructure in the Municipality.
“Remembering the fallen soldiers who brought the peace Uganda has enjoyed for years is vital. My team is working closely with the UPDF to implement municipal projects, including the renovation of schools, health units, and roads during this Tarehe Sita commemoration,” Aja stated.
Hon. Andrew Aja Baryayanga’s growing prominence, built on his dedicated role in shaping Kabale Municipality, is further underscored by his participation in this national remembrance event, linking past sacrifices with present service and future progress.
The Tarehe Sita activities in Kabale District will continue with community outreach and civic engagement programs led by the UPDF.
