The gathering brought together party structures to fine-tune plans for a grand reception for President Museveni, who began his Kigezi sub-region campaign trail on Monday in Kisoro and Rubanda districts.
The tour will proceed to Rukiga and Kabale on Tuesday before culminating in Kanungu and Rukungiri on Wednesday, where mobilization efforts have already intensified.
Addressing party leaders and supporters, Hon. Rwabugumi and his team outlined a series of vibrant activities designed to energize the base and ensure a massive turnout.
A highlight of the planned events is a massive road show, with supporters lining the route to cheer on the President as he travels from Kebisoni Town Council through Buyanja Town Council on his way to Rukungiri.
Dispelling rumors that have caused public concern, a senior NRM official, Mr. One Brain, assured everyone that the President’s rally would be accessible to all.
“It is not true, as some people are being told, that only leaders will be allowed in the Rukungiri main stadium to attend President Museveni’s rally. I want to assure everyone that all people will be allowed, and therefore, they should come early and in large numbers,” Mr. Brain emphasized.
He added that the party is likely to provide signature yellow NRM T-shirts to all attendees at the stadium entrance.
The atmosphere in the district, particularly in Rubabo Constituency, is now one of eager anticipation as locals prepare to welcome President Museveni, buoyed by the assurance of an inclusive and well-organized event.
