RUBIRIZI, UGANDA – The National Chairperson of the NRM Women’s League, Adrine Kobusingye, has warned women leaders in Rubirizi District against supporting independent candidates, charging them to unite and spearhead grassroots mobilization for the party’s candidates.

Speaking at the meeting, Kobusingye called for reconciliation among women leaders after the recent NRM primaries, urging them to “put past competition behind” and unite to secure victory for the President and the party’s flag bearers.
The event served as a dynamic launchpad for a broader grassroots NRM Party campaign, outlining a clear and actionable set of goals.
The initiative aims to secure electoral support for the NRM, drive economic empowerment through savings, and combat social issues like domestic violence, poverty, and illiteracy.
In a significant move aimed at bolstering economic empowerment, Kobusingye launched a women’s Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization (SACCO) under the Adrine Foundation.
She pledged an initial contribution of five million shillings to seed the fund, providing a crucial financial catalyst for the women’s efforts.
The Rubirizi District Women’s League NRM Chairperson, Hon. Judith Amanya, confirmed that the event officially inaugurated the district’s women’s grassroots mobilization team.
She rallied attendees behind the new slogan, “All Women for Museveni,” stressing that despite rifts from the party primaries, empowering women in leadership is urgent for combating poverty.
Hon. Ninsiima Prudence, Lady Councilor for Kashenyi Parish, encouraged women to support their families, embrace a culture of saving, and champion community development projects.
“Let us work together diligently to build a prosperous future and become good ambassadors for the NRM,” Ninsiima said.
She added that the meetings would help resolve misunderstandings, strengthen party structures, and ensure a resounding victory in the forthcoming elections.
