The coordinated raids between November 4th and 5th, 2025, targeted criminal hideouts, drug abusers, and habitual offenders in both urban and peri-urban communities.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, confirmed that all 209 suspects are currently undergoing screening and will be processed for prosecution in courts of law.

Police operations across the Kajjansi and Old Kampala divisions led to 104 arrests, with 44 suspects apprehended in Kajjansi for offenses like marijuana use and theft, and 60 individuals arrested in Old Kampala for possessing breaking implements and suspected narcotics.

In the Kabalagala and Matugga divisions, over 45 suspects were arrested for narcotics and street mugging, including several apprehended along the busy Matugga-Gulu Highway for phone snatching and drug use during evening traffic.

Operations in Mukono District resulted in 47 arrests across Goma and Central Divisions, with key targets including the Katwe–Bukerere area, Namave Industrial Park, and the neighborhoods of Kitega, Wantoni, Benghazi, and Kikooza.

The Kira Division saw 8 suspects arrested in Nsasa and Bulindo, where they were found in possession of suspected narcotics.

Police have extended their gratitude to the public and commended local leaders and community members for their cooperation in sharing information that aids in dismantling criminal networks.
