NTUNGAMO, UGANDA – The Private Secretary to the First Lady, Seth Rukurungu, has commended the youths for their significant role in mobilizing support for the NRM party ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Rukurungu asked them to continue supporting President Museveni, citing the NRM government’s efforts to empower low-income youth through various Wealth Creation Programmes across the country.

The appeal was made to young people under the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Ntungamo District and neighbouring districts, who vowed to intensify mobilisation for President Yoweri Museveni and all NRM flag bearers.

While officiating at the launch of the Tubirindegye campaign for Rugarama Main Sub-county on Monday at Rugarama Archdeaconry, Rukurungu stressed that the government intends to intensify job creation by establishing more industries.

The “Tubirindegye” campaign, loosely translated as “let’s protect them well,” was initiated by Aijuka Rodgers, the director of Free and Rich Uganda (Ntungamo). It is designed to showcase the specific achievements of the NRM since 1986 across the country.

Rukurungu hailed Aijuka Rodgers for promoting the dissemination of NRM achievements to the public and implored everyone to vote for the NRM overwhelmingly in the 2026 general elections.

Aijuka Rodgers, the Chief Coordinator of the Tubirindegye campaign, warned youths against being lured into politics of identity, but rather to vote for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, whom he described as an exemplary and visionary leader.

Mugizi Ephraim, the NRM Chairperson for Rugarama Main Sub-county, commended the First Lady, Janet Kataaha Museveni, for initiating the Tubirindegye campaign, which he said would increase support for the NRM.

Saidat Muhereza, the District Lady Councilor for Rugarama Main Sub-county, emphasized that the primary gain that youths must protect is peace, which they can secure by voting President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni back into power.

She urged them to make use of Parish Development Model (PDM) funds to elevate themselves from poverty.

The participants reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the core values of the ruling party, pledging to deliver massive support for the President and all NRM candidates in Ntungamo and neighbouring districts.
