KAMPALA, UGANDA – The UPDF and the family of the late Col. Anthony Kyakabaale have outlined his final journey in a provisional burial program, leading from Entebbe to his resting place in Rukiga District.

The funeral program begins on Friday, November 1st, with the body’s arrival at Entebbe International Airport and continues through events in Kampala and Kabale until November 4th.
From the airport, the cortège will proceed to Bombo, where the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) will take charge of the body for further treatment and dressing in full army attire, an honor befitting his military service.
On Friday afternoon, a solemn mass will be held at Rubaga Cathedral in Kampala from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, allowing colleagues, friends, and well-wishers to pay their respects.
Following Friday’s mass, the body will be taken to his family home in Kinawa for an overnight vigil, before the funeral procession travels to his home district on Saturday.
The funeral procession will depart from Kinawa at 10:00 AM on Saturday for Rukiga District, where the body will lie in repose at Kitanga Catholic Church for a second night vigil.
The final rites will be held on Sunday, November 3rd, and Monday, November 4th. A morning mass will be held at Kitanga Catholic Church in Rukiga District at 10:00 AM on Sunday.
After the service, the body will be taken to his family home in Nyakarambi, Mparo for a vigil, ahead of the final funeral service at Rushebeya grounds on Monday, November 4th.
Following this last ceremony, the late Col. Anthony Kyakabaale will be laid to rest at his family home in Nyakarambi, Mparo.
