KISORO UGANDA – The opposition People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) has announced plans to establish a fully operational administrative office in Kisoro District, in a strategic move to solidify its presence in Southwestern Uganda.

The development, confirmed by senior party officials, is seen as a significant step in the PFF’s grassroots mobilization strategy, aimed at expanding its support base and challenging the dominance of established political parties in the region.

Kenneth Geoffrey Opoka, the party’s Deputy Speaker and co-founder, announced his personal commitment to supporting PFF members in Kisoro as they mobilize resources for a dedicated party office.

Opoka expressed strong confidence that the physical presence of an office would trigger a wave of defections from other political organizations, bolstering the PFF’s ranks.

“We are ready to support our PFF members in Kisoro as they mobilize resources to set up an office for the party. Once the office is opened, more people are expected to defect from other political parties and join the PFF,” Opoka asserted.

In a separate caution, the Deputy Speaker advised the party’s aspiring leaders to avoid late-night movements and attending uninvited events, warning that such conduct could make them a target for security agencies.

Gordon Semahore, the Kigezi Region Party Mobilizer, described the move as a game-changer that would grant the party an official foothold and significantly strengthen its mobilization efforts in the district.

He elaborated on the practical benefits for residents, noting that the office would serve as a hub for party activities and registration.

“Opening an administrative office in Kisoro will give the party an official presence and strengthen mobilization efforts in the district. The new office will help residents learn how to acquire valid party membership cards and support the party’s activities,” Semahore stated.

Semahore also revealed that the party intends to appoint a dedicated leader for the new Kisoro office, a move he believes will inspire supporter confidence and encourage voluntary financial contributions to the party’s cause.

The establishment of the Kisoro office marks a clear intent by the PFF to deepen its grassroots engagement in the Kigezi sub-region, setting the stage for intensified political activity in the area ahead of future electoral cycles.
