KISORO. In an effort to enhance sanitation and hygiene, the Seseme Old Girls Saving Association (SOGSA) has donated a 10,000-litre rainwater harvesting tank and sanitary pads valued at UGX 3.5 million to Seseme Girls Secondary School in Northern Division, Kisoro Municipality.

During the handover event, Asiimwe Bright, chairperson of the Seseme Old Girls Students’ Association, told journalists that the association, composed of alumni from Seseme Girls Secondary School, was formed with the goal of giving back to their former school and inspiring current learners.
She added that the lack of access to sanitary pads often causes fear and discomfort among students during menstruation, which can negatively impact their concentration and school attendance.

Ms. Peace Ruzaza, the head teacher of Seseme Girls Secondary School, expressed gratitude to the association for their timely support. She highlighted the challenges the school has been facing regarding water access and appreciated the donation of sanitary pads, emphasizing that it would boost the confidence and well-being of female students, especially during their menstrual periods.
