Aviation officials attribute the record-breaking traffic in August 2025 which significantly surpassed July’s high and continues a strong upward trend to a thriving calendar of international events.
The positive trend extended beyond passengers, as the airport’s cargo operations also demonstrated strong growth in August 2025, reaching a total volume of 5,257 metric tons.
A detailed breakdown shows 2,010 metric tons of imports against 3,247 metric tons of exports, resulting in a healthy trade balance that highlights the vital role EIA plays in facilitating Ugandan trade.
Analysts credit Uganda’s strong fresh produce exports including flowers, fruits, and vegetables to Europe and the Middle East to sustained government investment in airport infrastructure and marketing.
The expansion of facilities and the addition of new airline partners have increased Entebbe’s connectivity and capacity, making it a more attractive option for travelers and freight operators alike.
