In an interview with this reporter ahead of the start of the third term on Monday, September 15, 2025, the RDC stated that the practice of continuing lessons during holidays is often driven by individuals’ desire for personal gain, cheating parents and students out of extra fees for holiday coaching.

Gad Rugaju emphasized that holidays are crucial for teachers, students, and parents, providing students with necessary rest and rejuvenation from academic pressures.

He added that holidays offer opportunities for socialization, personal development through extracurricular activities, and psychological well-being by reducing stress and anxiety.

“Holidays are essential for students, providing not just rest and rejuvenation from academic pressures, but also crucial opportunities for socialization, personal development, and overall psychological well-being,” stated Gad Rugaju.

D/RDC Ahimbisibwe Gad Rugaju stated that holidays provide teachers with crucial opportunities for professional rejuvenation, reducing burnout and enhancing their effectiveness in the classroom.

He also confirmed that parents benefit from holidays through strengthened family bonds, reduced childcare costs, and lower stress levels, enabling them to better manage their responsibilities.

“Holidays offer essential rejuvenation for teachers, reducing burnout and boosting classroom effectiveness, while also providing parents valuable family time, economic relief, and reduced stress,” added Gad Rugaju.

He also highlighted that holidays provide a significant economic boost through tourism and consumer spending, while also strengthening social bonds and offering essential psychological benefits like stress relief and personal growth.
