Museveni Stands With Rukutana Family as They Bury Patriarch in Ntungamo

Ntungamo, Uganda – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni sent a message of condolence to the family of Hon. Mwesigwa Rukutana following the death of his elder brother, Mwesigwa Barati Rukutana of Ntungamo district.

Late Mwesigwa Barati Rukutana, 64, succumbed to prostate cancer after a long illness and was buried at Ruyonza Nyanga home as Hon. Rukutana delivered Museveni’s condolence message.

In a personal telephone call, President Museveni expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, assuring them of his solidarity during this difficult time.

President Museveni contributed UGX 10 million towards burial expenses, with Hon. Rukutana expressing profound gratitude for the President’s generosity and steadfast support during their time of loss.

During his eulogy, Hon. Rukutana fondly remembered his late brother as a gentle, humble, and hardworking man who dedicated his life to serving others without reservation.

He urged parents to embrace and care for all people equally, emphasizing the importance of family support in later years.

Hon. Rukutana also thanked Bob Kabonero, Hon. Elly Rwakakooko, and Hon. Stephen Tashobya for their steadfast love and assistance to the family during this trying period.

Hon. Stephen Tashobya, the Electoral Commission commissioner, and businessman Bob Kabonero praised the late Rukutana as a peaceful and generous man who touched many lives with his kindness.

Meanwhile, Rushenyi County legislator Hon. Naome Kabasharira called for unity among political leaders and their supporters, urging them not to let elections create divisions.

The deceased’s three wives, Jolly, Sunny, and Barekye, shared touching memories of their husband, describing him as a hardworking, hospitable, and loving family man.

The family warmly acknowledged Hon. Rukutana’s steadfast devotion, praising his unwavering presence and support throughout their difficult journey.

The children, led by Mwesigye Smith, paid tribute to their father for his unwavering commitment to their upbringing and education, crediting him for shaping them into the individuals they are today.

Rev. Kiiza Moses of St. Andrew’s COU Ruyonza Rugarama Archdeaconry offered spiritual comfort to mourners, reminding them that God holds the ultimate plan for every life.

The man of God also highlighted the deceased’s steadfast Christian devotion, holding him up as a spiritual beacon for the community to emulate.

Mwesigwa Barati Rukutana, 64, is survived by three wives, children, and grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and community service.
