The repatriated officers, comprising 20 females and 122 males, led by Deputy Contingent Commander SSP Andrew Musiime, were officially received by Commissioner of Police Polly Namaye, Head of Peace Support Operations in the Uganda Police Force.

CP Namaye praised the officers for their dedication, discipline, and professionalism during their deployment, highlighting their vital role in promoting regional peace and stability in Somalia.

During the reception, CP Namaye encouraged the officers to apply the skills and experience gained during the mission to improve community safety and policing standards in Uganda.

She stressed that leveraging the knowledge and expertise gained from the mission would be crucial in improving policing standards, tackling security challenges, and ultimately enhancing the safety and well-being of communities across Uganda.

The officers’ deployment in Somalia, part of Uganda’s contribution to regional peacekeeping efforts under ATMIS, demonstrates Uganda’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.

The return of the officers marks the end of a successful mission, and the UPF looks forward to reintegrating them into their duties, where the experience and skills gained will undoubtedly contribute to improving policing services in Uganda.
