Young Hearts, Big Impact: Seseme Girls’ School Supports New Mothers

Kisoro, Uganda – The Red Cross Link of Seseme Girls’ Secondary School, a Kisoro-based girls’ school, has made a generous donation of essential hygiene items to pregnant women and new mothers with newborn babies at Kisoro Hospital.

The donation, which included essential items such as soap, baby sponges, and other gifts, was warmly received by the beneficiaries.

The pregnant women and new mothers expressed their gratitude, stating that the hygiene items will greatly assist them in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene for their babies.

They praised the students of Seseme Girls’ Secondary School for their selfless act, saying that the donation will contribute significantly to the health and well-being of both the mothers and their newborns.

Pascy Ainembabzi, the chairperson of the Seseme Girls’ Secondary School Red Cross Link, explained that the group’s dream has always been to help people, with a particular focus on supporting pregnant women in hospitals.

“After giving birth, mothers need many essential items to ensure their babies stay clean and healthy, as well as to care for themselves during recovery,” Pascy said.

The donation was warmly welcomed and highly appreciated by both the hospital administration and the Red Cross Kisoro branch, who commended the initiative for its positive impact on the community.

Kali James, representing the Branch Manager of the Red Cross Kisoro, praised the leadership of the Seseme Girls’ Secondary School Red Cross Link for their generosity.

“We encourage them to continue upholding the spirit of the Red Cross by serving and supporting communities in need, and we look forward to seeing more of such initiatives that bring hope and relief to those who need it most,” James said.
