The warning follows a fatal vehicle collision that occurred on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at approximately 12:10 AM at Muhokya Trading Centre along Kasese Fort Portal Road, resulting in the death of an unidentified male adult.

According to Rwenzori East Region-Kasese Police Spokesperson, SP Nelson Tumushime, police officers from Muhokya Police Post responded promptly to the scene, where they found the victim’s body lying in the middle of the road.

The body was later transported to the Mortuary in Kasese Municipal Council Health II for autopsy and postmortem report.SP Nelson Tumushime emphasized that failure to comply with traffic rules and regulations will result in arrest and prosecution.

“As we investigate this tragic incident, we urge all motorists and pedestrians to exercise extreme caution and adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations. Disregard for traffic laws will not be tolerated; offenders will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” Said Nelson Tumushime.

This warning comes after the Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety department arrested 356 individuals last week for violating traffic rules and regulations in around Kampala.
