University Graduates Cautioned Against Rushing for Quick Wealth.

Students graduating from Universities across the Country have been cautioned against rushing to seek for quick wealth that is attained through unethical means.

The caution was sounded today, by the Executive Director of the National Agriculture Advisory Services –NAADS, Dr. Samuel Mugasi while officiating as the Chief Guest at the UCU-Bishop Barham University College’s 25th Graduation. The ceremony was held at Rugarama Cathedral Grounds.

“The Challenge we have today, is graduates seeking to attain quick riches disregarding their professional ethics in search for success,” he said.

Dr. Mugasi asked the graduates to exercise patience as they seek for better lives while in the job field, adding that success is a gradual process.

In her speech, the BBUC Principal Dr. Kyobutungi Tumwesigye asked the graduates to trust the academic knowledge, while maintaining the morals and ethics imparted into them by the University as they head out to seek for jobs.

Meanwhile, the Archbishop Dr. Samuel Kazimba Mugalu who also doubles as the Uganda Christian University Chancellor commended the BBUC administration for their concerted efforts in uplifting standards of the institution, making it one of the largest academic institutions of higher learning in the Kigezi Sub-region. BBUC started with one department of theology, but today it boasts a number of departments producing over 1000 graduates each academic year.

It total of 561 students were graduated today, in BBUC’s graduation. 287 were females while 274 were males.

Three students attained first class degrees namely; Allen Tayebwa (Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration) 4.73 points, Kenneth Tumweboneire (Bachelor of Education) 4.49 points, and Oscar Ndamwesiga (Bachelor of Education) 4.41 points.

The ceremony also featured 62 postgraduates, and 1 PHD Graduate.
