Police stuck with the unclaimed body of a man who died in a fatal hit-and-run accident.

KAMPALA-UGANDA: The Kampala Central Police Station is seeking the relatives of Birungi Vincent, who died in a fatal hit-and-run accident along Mukwano Road.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango the accident occurred on July 17, 2024 near Clock Tower and Total petrol station.

Onyango added that Birungi succumbed to his injuries at the scene, and his body was transported to City Mortuary, Mulago, for a post-mortem examination. 

According to his national identification card, Birungi was born on January 1, 1964, and resided in Zone B, Makerere II Parish, Kawempe Division, Kampala District.

Police Mousepiece further urges anyone with information about Birungi’s next of kin or friends to come forward and claim his body at Mulago City Mortuary.

Patrick Onyango said that the investigations into the accident are ongoing.
