HOIMA: Seven people including three police officers and four prisoners have died in a nasty road accident in Hoima District.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The seven were on Thursday travelling in a police van attached to Kikuube District which crashed and overturned at Kitegwa B Village along Kabaale Hohwa Road in Kabale Sub-county.
Sources have it that the deceased were riding on the police truck which was carrying four civilians including three crime suspects, a one-month-old baby and five policemen including the driver.
While speaking to this reporter the eyewitnesses attributed the accident to overspeeding from the police vehicle which led to losing control and the vehicle overturning several times.
The Albertine regional police spokesperson, Mr Julius Allan Hakiza confirmed the incident and said the other victims are currently nursing injuries at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital as police investigate the cause of the accident.
The bodies of the deceased are currently at the Hoima Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary in Hoima District.
