11 Shortlisted Candidates for probationer police constables fail to turn up for interview in Kigezi.

NEWS: The shortlisted candidates for the probationer police constables have been interviewed in the six districts of Kigezi Sub Region in the ongoing recruitment drive of the Probationer Police Constables in Uganda.

According to Kigezi police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate, the Probationer Police Constables recruitment drive in Kigezi commenced on 6th May 2024 in Rukiga district and ended yesterday Sunday in Rukungiri District.

Maate confirmed to Journalist that 240 candidates turned up for the interviews, out of the 251 shortlisted candidates with Males Turning up in numbers.

In Kisoro district, 58 Candidates showed up for the interviews out of 63 Shortlisted, Rukungiri all 40 candidates turning up and 57 more Candidates attending in Kanungu District out of the 58 Shortlisted Candidates, 16 being females.

Others were 18 candidates in Rubanda district out of the 20 Shortlisted, 47 attending in Kabale District out of 50 Shortlisted Candidates with Rukiga district seeing all the 20 Candidates attending including 3 Females 17 males.

The police spokesperson told the press that the probationary police constables recruitment exercise in Kigezi Sub Region ended successfully without anything of concern with the most of the candidates shortlisted attending the interviews.

Maate added the interviewing sessions was led by the Chairman ACP Kayima Emillian and his Team from the Police Headquarters, who proceeded to Ntungamo district for the interviews scheduled for today Monday with the Kigezi regional team led by the RPC ACP Saiga Ibrahim standing down back for the normal schedules of Work.

The recruitment drive is targeting around 2,500 people, who will be enlisted into the forces as probationary police constables with the potential recruits expected to be holding a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent.
