KISORO: The Minister of state for Defense and Veteran Affairs (Defense) Hon Sarah Mateke Nyirabashitsi has implored people in Kisoro district to get involved in government programs aimed at increasing household income.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The Minister said this yesterday while engaging people from 16 villages in Nyundo sub county in a campaign to improve household incomes and equitable socio-economic transformation.
Hon Sarah Mateke Legislator representing Kisoro women in the Parliament of Uganda highlighting a number of government programs including the Social Assistance Grant for Empowerment (SAGE) program, the Uganda entrepreneurship programmers (UWEP), and Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP).
Other programmes are The National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS), Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), EMYOOGA and the Parish Development Model PDM all aimed at improving the household income.
“Our government of Uganda has put in place a number of programs to lift us from poverty. All of us are considered and we must get involved, talk of the Youth, the women, the elderly all of us!” Said Hon. Sarah Mateke.
During the engagement, residents raised a concern of water shortage and electricity in which the Minister pledged his fellow MP to work on it in collaboration.
