NATIONAL The Ugandan Police is undergoing a vetting process over the illegality and the compliance of the seven private security organizations within the country.

Enanga added that the force is also evaluating 20 more other private security organizations which May see their licenses suspended for failing to adhere to operational guidelines.
“We have seven private security organizations that are being vetted with intentions of having their operating licenses cancelled and another 20 more being evaluated that are to be suspended for a period so that they can comply with the guidelines that were given to them” said Fred Enanga.
The police spokesperson also said that the process would be concluded with the effect of this week as for the next journalist engagement, a list of both the security companies that will lose their Licenses, and those to be suspended will be released to the media.
Some of the guidelines include having an NSSF certificate of clearance, Evidence of payment of gun licensing fees or gun rental fees, and evidence of annual inspection of the company.
