Kisoro, Uganda – Former Bufumbira South Member of Parliament and aspirant for the same seat in the 2026 general elections, Hon. Sam Kwizera Bitangaro has encouraged employers to appreciate and respect their workers.
He emphasized this during the commemoration of Labor Day, highlighting the importance of promoting better development through positive employer-worker relationships.
The Labour Day theme recognizes workers’ devotion, hard work, and perseverance globally, aiming to raise awareness about workers’ rights, prevent exploitation, and advocate for fair salaries and improved working conditions.
According to Hon. Bitangaro, some employers harass workers, violating their rights and forcing them to work in unbearable conditions, which can lead to workers abandoning or resigning from their jobs.
He urged employers to prioritize workers’ well-being for the prosperity of their projects or institutions.
