Rukungiri, Uganda – The Ikondere cell area Chairperson in Rukungiri district has gone into hiding after allegedly murdering a 28-year-old man over accusations of stealing coffee.

The suspects, identified as Turyahabwe Benson, his wife Christina Turyahabwe, and others, are believed to have been involved in the murder of Muhumuza Robert, alias Muja, a resident of Ruyonja cell, Nyarushanje sub-county.

According to sources, Muja and Mwesigwa Hillary spent the evening of June 2, 2025, drinking together at Nyarushanje trading centre before deciding to sleep at Mwesigwa’s residence.
