Kasese, Uganda – Police officers in Rwenzori East Region, Kasese, have come together to support the construction of the new Kasese Catholic Cathedral.

Led by Regional Police Commander SSP Odoch Dennis, the officers raised funds totaling UGX 2,600,000, which was donated to the church on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

Rev. Fr. Joseph Mbusa, who led the mass, expressed gratitude to the officers for their generosity, noting that the church’s presence would enhance the police’s efforts to fight crime in the region.

The donation was seen as a heartwarming display and a testament to the police officers’ commitment to building strong relationships with the community they serve.

In his remarks, SSP Odoch Dennis urged congregants to refrain from engaging in criminal activities, emphasizing the importance of peaceful coexistence.

He also highlighted the police’s ongoing efforts to promote community safety and security, appreciating his officers for their dedication to building a better community.

This charitable act is a shining example of the police’s commitment to community policing and highlights the value of collaboration between law enforcement and the community in promoting peace and security.
