Kisoro, Uganda – Bufumbira South MP in Kisoro district, Hon. Eng. Alex Niyonsaba Seruganda, has donated six motorcycles to four sub-counties and two town councils under the Association of Boda Boda Investment Clubs.
The beneficiary sub-counties include Nyakinama, Muramba, Chahi, and Nyarusiza, while Bunagana and Chanika Town councils also received motorcycles.
During the handover ceremony, local leaders and boda boda operators expressed their gratitude for Hon. Seruganda’s contribution.
Edison Matara, the LC1 Chairperson of Rubugaba Village in Chahi Sub-county, praised Hon. Seruganda’s commitment to development, noting the tangible benefits it brought to the community.
The Chairperson further urged residents to embrace such initiatives, emphasizing their potential to alleviate persistent poverty levels in families.
Baker Batamukoraho, General Secretary for Kisoro United Boda Boda Operators, also thanked Hon. Seruganda for his continued support.
He called on other leaders to follow suit, highlighting the significant role boda boda investment clubs play in driving development in the district.

The Kisoro RDC, Hajji Badru Ssebyalla, cautioned boda boda riders against excessive alcohol consumption, which could lead to mismanagement of daily earnings.
The RDC further encouraged boda boda riders to prioritize education for their children to combat illiteracy in their communities and throughout the district.
