Rukiga, Uganda – In a stunning electoral upset, the incumbent Woman Member of Parliament for Rukiga District, Hon. Caroline Kamusiime Muhwezi, failed to secure a single vote at Kayebe Polling Station in Kayebe Cell, Kigara Parish, Kamwezi Sub County.

The polling station, which had 754 registered voters, saw an overwhelming turnout, with 748 voters lining up in favor of Hon. Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe, Coraline’s main opponent. Shockingly, not a single vote was recorded for the incumbent Mp, marking a dramatic rejection by the electorate.

Before voting commenced, NRM Returning Officer for Kayebe Polling Station, Kabaza Asuman, read out the list of eligible voters and called upon the agents representing both candidates to present themselves.

However, no agent for Hon. Caroline Kamusiime Muhwezi showed up, raising questions about her campaign’s preparedness at this location.

Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe, who was actively campaigning alongside her husband, led a massive queue of voters who turned out in her support.

After casting her vote, she was seen rejoicing with supporters, who celebrated what they viewed as an early indicator of her impending victory.

This unprecedented result at Kayebe Polling Station signals a major shift in voter sentiment in Rukiga District.

Analysts suggest that Hon. Caroline Kamusiime Muhwezi’s absence of support at this station could reflect broader dissatisfaction with her leadership.

As vote counting continues across the district, all eyes remain on whether this trend will hold in other polling stations.

Stay tuned for further developments……….
