Rukiga, Uganda – The Most Reverend Dr. Steven Kazimba Mugalu, Archbishop of Uganda, consecrated All Saints Church Rwamatunguru in Kamwezi Sub-County on Monday, August 11, 2025.

The ceremony marked a significant spiritual milestone for the Diocese of Kigezi, attended by hundreds of worshippers celebrating their new place of worship.

The church building at Town Hill in Kayebe Cell, Kigarura Parish, was constructed through the initiative of Hon. Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe, the NRM Party flag bearer for Rukiga District Woman MP in the 2026 general elections.

Before the consecration, Dr. Alinaitwe explained to reporters that the project serves as both a worship center and community development symbol.

“My husband and I believed it was right to build this church as our way of thanking God for the countless blessings we have received throughout our lives,” Dr. Alinaitwe said.

She expressed gratitude to believers, well-wishers, and church leaders who supported the project, particularly thanking Archbishop Kazimba for his spiritual guidance and presence at both the groundbreaking and consecration ceremonies.

Archbishop Kazimba presided over the service alongside the Bishop of Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Gad Akanjuna, with several archdeacons, reverends, and local church leaders in attendance.

The new church provides both a physical worship space and a focal point for community cohesion in Rukiga District.
