Rukiga, Uganda – The aspiring Kashabya Sub County LC III Chairperson, Hon. Ayesiga Emmanuel aka Master Planner has vowed to tackle unemployment among the youth in the area.

During a meeting with sub-county elders, including retired Reverend Father Gaetano Batanyenda, at Kitanga Catholic parish grounds, Hon. Emmanuel emphasized the need to address the issue of unemployment, which he believes has contributed to insecurity in the area.

Hon. Emmanuel, who is currently engaging in home area consultations ahead of the 2026 general elections, stressed the importance of sensitizing parents to take their children to vocational institutions. This, he said, would enable them to acquire skills and set up their own income-generating projects.

The aspiring chairperson also highlighted the crucial role parents play in shaping their children’s futures by motivating them to pursue courses that align with their dreams.

“Not every course our children take at campus is in line with their future dreams. We as parents need to plan the future of our kids by motivating them in things that can guide them into the rightful path of life,” said Hon. Emmanuel.

Retired Reverend Father Gaetano Batanyenda, representing the elders, appreciated Hon. Emmanuel’s initiative, noting that office jobs have become scarce in the current government.

“In this government of Museveni, if someone lies to you that your child will get an office job, run away from him quickly. Jobs nowadays are distributed considering the backgrounds of prominent big officials in government,” said Fr. Batanyenda.

Fr. Batanyenda added that vocational institutions are essential for equipping youth with skills to employ themselves.

The meeting highlights the growing concern about unemployment among youth in the area and the need for innovative solutions to address the issue.

As the 2026 general elections draw near, contestants like Hon. Ayesiga Emmanuel are engaging with voters and outlining their plans to tackle pressing issues affecting the community.
